GSAT (General Security Awareness Training)
The latest DfT regulations for airport personnel
General Security Awareness Training (GSAT) is a requirement of EC Regulation 2320. In the UK, GSAT applies to all applicants for, and holders, of a full pass granting unescorted access to the Restricted Zone (RZ).
From 28 January 2008 applicants must provide evidence that they have successfully completed a full GSAT course; or provide evidence of 'equivalence'.
By 19 January 2009 anyone who was the holder of a full pass at 28 January 2008 must have provided evidence that they have discharged the GSAT requirements or their pass will be suspended.
Smart Approach has developed a GSAT course in conjunction with
one of UK's largest airports.
To meet
the high demand for online training our GSAT course is a
CBT (computer based training) course which can be taken online
over the Internet or if preferred deployed via a CD Rom.
Due to demand we are looking to extend our network of resellers to promote and sell the GSAT course, ether under the world-renown Smart Approach brand or under your own brand if you prefer.
This will be a limited opportunity so if you would like to discuss in more detail please email:

The need for security training
Following the events of 9/11 and the 7 July London bombing, and as threat levels shift to
severe, millions of lives are increasingly reliant upon the proficiency of security staff.
Every day countless packages and baggage items are screened for potentially lethal articles.
Existing technology is only effective if security screeners are well-trained to
recognise the numerous types of threats and if they can fully utilise the security equipment
on hand. Security personnel must be familiar with metal detectors, physical search procedures,
hand-wanding, x-ray machines, ion detection, EDS machines and much more.
Training for x-ray screener and security is increasingly vital for development and maintenance
of these skills, especially with new technology and emerging threats on the horizon.
Smart Approach has a unique understanding of the challenges involved with training security
professionals and through a combination of security expertise and market leading products
is able to help your organisation maintain and increase screener competence.
